 Playon!HD2 and Playon!HD2 Mini
Hello
I have two devices on my network. The HD2 is the main box with the internal HDD and I also have a HD2 Mini conencted to the bedroom TV.
After working perfectly for several months, I have recently started to have problems with the Mini connecting over WiFi to the main box. When looking through the file menu, nothing comes up in the networks section.
I have just updated the firmare on both devices and the problem remains.
It now seems that I have to enable UPNP on the main box before i can conenct to it from upstairs. I need to do this each time, as the UPNP ON setting seems not to be saved by the main HD2 box.
Why is this problem happening? It is most annoying.
Thanks

 Re: Playon!HD2 and Playon!HD2 Mini
Hello,
This initially sounds like a network discovery issue. In particular if you did not change anything in your setup.
If you want to access the Playon!HD 2's hard drive with your Playon!HD Mini2 then do the following.
In Playon!HD 2 - go to 'setup:network: and enable 'Samba' option. Also note down the IP address in the same view.
Then with your Playon!HD Mini2, simply go to 'Files Manager:Network:My Shortcuts' and once you are here you press the 'Menu' button and add the ip number of your Playon!HD 2.
If you are connected to the same router / network, the above will always work.
Best regards,

 Re: Playon!HD2 and Playon!HD2 Mini
Hi
Thanks for quick reply.
SAMBA is already enabled.
In the past I have been able to browse through filemanager, networks and the device has normally been visible, but no-more!
I will give the IP bit a try.
Thanks

This is the same way, but you don't have to rely on Windows samba network discovery. This variates in all different network setup's and environments and normally Windows should refresh every 15 minutes.
You can google for this if you want to find out more, this goes into Windows 7 and network discovery.
Best regards,
