Post network problem n°2
hello,
i have been struggling to get the Play on HD to work properly with my network.
I have configurated the network and the playon and I can see my shared folders and I get connection with the server. So everything works fine :D

At random moments I lose the connection with the server. All services show "running" DHCP signal is ok. :?
I have found that the only thing that can re- establish the connection is to do folowing steps:
system upgrade
extension package update
When I do this, I can see all shared folders again...it works fine ...for how long???
I am not a computer wizzard, so I do not understand what is happening here?
I do have installed the latest firmware package.
The WiFi router is Link Sys and I am working with the usb dongle provided by Ac Ryan.
Am I doing something wrong in the configuration or so???
Any help is appreciated!

Can you give me some more details?
Do you loose connection while streaming?
Or can't your AC Ryan device find the network share?
In that case you could always manually add a network connection in My Shortcuts. Do this by clicking the menu button on your remote (while you're in My Shortcuts).

hello,
thanks for the reply and trying to help me out!
no, I never lose connection while streaming.
For example, I shut down the HD device. When I start it up again. I can't find the network share...
I have tried to to what you suggest and.... it works. I can't understand whay the device doesn't log in automatically????
But, I can solve this by using this trick... :)
Is this a programming fault or did I do something wrong?
Thanks again!!!

I'm glad to get you on your way!

I think it's a samba issue. When I have a windows machine on in my network (with the same workgroup name) the playon!hd seem to find my nas (also with the same workgroupname). Not sure if it's related, but that is just one of the things I notice...
