hi,

on my tv i can access all folders, movies and music, fine

but when i plug it into my computer i can only see my movies.... not one single music file

i want to transfer some songs back onto my computer, any ideas? thank you

How are you connected than? Via USB Cable connection?
And when connected to the computer can you see all other files except music?
What OS are you using?

yes, connected via usb

when i open the harddrive it takes me straight to all of my movies (so no main Movie/Music/Photo folder), but of course it only shows the movies, and none of my music

whats an OS? im pretty sure it says the model is ACR-PV73500p on the back (i will have to double check)

what is OS, is it on the back? if not, how do i find it? (i dont have the box with me)

Hello,

You seem to have a very outdated firmware. I would recommend you to update to our latest for your product.

For this you need to download a file, and then put in on a USB-stick and then update your Playon!HD Essential.

Then update using these steps:

Safe-mode flashing procedure:
1. Download and extract the .install.img and bin.wifi.zip into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Shutdown the player.
4. Press and hold down the power button in front of the player for 15 seconds.
5. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

When you connect the Playon!HD Essential with USB-slave to your PC. It will act like any normal USB-harddrive connected to your PC. You can then access your files and folders just the way you have arranged them in your hard drive. Just browse the hard drive and if you have music files in the hard drive they should be located..

If this is not the case, please let us know what OS (operative system) you are using on your PC, is it Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, MAC iOS, Linux etc?

Nope, the firmware is flashed on the memory and not the hard drive.

hi, i updated my firmware but still there is no music folder when i connect the device via usb to my computer...

i have a bunch of songs on my AC ryan device which show fine through HDMI on my tv, however, via usb on the computer they are nowhere to be found.
