Post Unable to access hdd on pc via wireless network anymore!
Tonight i tried to transfer a movie from my pc's hdd to my piece of monkey crap Playon DVR via the wireless network. It used to work ok in the past but now for some reason the stupid player keeps asking me for a bloody password everytime i try to access the movie folder on my pc even though passwords setting are all turned off in my windows 7 network centre and dvr. I can access the dvr hdd from my pc via the wireless network no problems but trying to transfer a 10gb movie like that will take me 19hrs according to windows. I WANT TO WATCH THIS MOVIE TONIGHT NOT TOMORROW NIGHT!!!. Yet when i used to be able to hook up to my pc via the dvr, even though being slow it did used to transfer large files in about an hour or so. So what's up with this stupid thing now? I was originally using the latest official firmware but trying the latest Beta firmware didn't help....same issues. I'm kind of thinking it might be an issue with Windows 7 but with all the bugs in the dvr it wouldn't surprise me if the issue was with that.
I am mega pissed off coz i have had nothing but drama after drama with this unit and i am about to drop kick it out my front door.
You guys up there in Europe need to stop hanging out at the dope cafe's and start pulling your fingers out of your arses and come up with solutions to every ones problems. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!!!!

I can't check this right now, but this is a Windows permissions issue. The folders that are being shared need to be set to allow the group 'Everyone' read access.

Also, if your computer username has no password, you'll need to set one up. To avoid entering this on Windows startup, first set up the password. Then press Windows key + R to access the Run dialog, and enter 'control userpasswords2'. Then uncheck the box, enter your password twice, and press OK.
