I have ugraded my existing WDTV to Playon HD after reading the amazing preview on Playon HD. But I enconter the following problems:

1. During .mkv file was played and I want to switch the subtitle (internal), after pressing the 'Subtitle' button, the video will bleed and in jerking motion. Problem solved using mkvmerge GUI v2.6.0

2. When play movie with simplified chinese subtitle, some character were missing randomly but it is OK when playing on my WDTV.

3. When play xvid (.avi) video, the colour is not as sharp as I played on WDTV. But when play .mkv video, the colour is marvelous.

New problems found

4. When I attached an USB external DVD rewriter, LG GE20NU10, Playon HD unable to detect it ven waited for 5 minutes.

5. Install a new HDD in Playon HD, no improvement to problem mentioned in item 1. Problem solved

6. Copying of files from external HDD to internal HDD is OK but using the function 'move' is not working even waited for 25 minues.

7. When press info button, the resolution WxH: 0x0 with video is playing. Function not working. Even trywith few versions of mkvmerge GUI

Hope someone in AC Ryan will help me in these problem.

1. The firmware is v.7.0.6r1199
2. The video was played from an external hard disk
3. Internal hard disk is not install.
4. Playing all .mkv files having the same problem.
5. Subtitles were merge to mkv file by mkvmerge GUI v2.9.7
6. Once subtitle button is pressed, colour bleed and jerky motion. Needs to stop and restart the video.
7. Video setting at HDMI auto and 24p set to ON
8. Sample will up at a later date.

This sample file is 27Mb in size and the video shutter is not as serious as the full video which is normally above 4GB.

Hope ACRyan can solve the problem in the next firmware.

i will check the file and get back to you as soon as possible ,

please take notice that an internal hard drive also helps with the buffering in large movie files , its not gonna resolve the issue but it helps a lot

Hi zenith,

The DTS downmixing is working fine and can watch movies with DTS without any external decoder.

As this set is shipped with the new firmware, I do not known what improvement had they done.

Hi there Woodwood i will forward your problems to the tech dept so they can help you out ....

1.i cant say for sure that the specific external dvd is compatible with the device i dont have the same in my warehouse to test it..
but for any external dvd player to be recognized must have a disk inside with files or movies and you must power off Playon and then power back so you can see the device threw browse menu...

3.Move issue is known from other posts and our tech dept is already on to it
4.thats strange i never heard about it ...

in any way woodwood you will get some help as soon as possible from the tech dept ...
