Playon!HD keeps shutting down after a few seconds
Help,
Bought a Playon!HD in december 2010 in the Netherlands.
Have been upgrading Firmware up to Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.4.r7317_European (early this year)
Further info (at least, that it was before problems started):
Bootloader: 0000.0202.1026L
Board: 1073DD C+
YAMJ 2.6 snapshot r2730
YAMJ GuiConfig 2.0.0.
My computer: Windows 7, 64 bits
A few days ago the Playon!HD started to reset spontaneous after a shutdown. Only way to shut it down, was by switching off the main power.
I searched for a solution on this forum, and found this topic:
[HOW-TO] Prevent the PlayON!HD from automatically rebooting!First tried solution 1. (repair HDD). - The Playon kept on rebooting after fixing the disk..
Then tried solution 2. (disable autoscan storage) - It kept on rebooting.
I followed each step exactly as was prescribed in the text, but to no avail.
Wondered if there might be something wrong with the firmware, although I did not touch it and everything worked fine up until now
(have had some problems with YAMJ some time ago, but that was solved with the help of Andy - changing square brackets in filenames into rounded brackets, like "filename [cd1]" into "filename (cd1)").
So I decided to do a rollback according to the "ACR-PV73100 Firmware Recovery Guide". Have done this before last year, after encountering reboots, and then this helped.
But not now.
I used a FAT-32 stick. No problems with flashing in the first step. It completed without problems. But step 2 failed.
When I started the Playon and wanted to go to the SETUP menu to start step 2, the system shutted down completely. With completely I mean: the front button went from blue to off, and not to red.
I tried several times, but always, after about half a minute, it completely shuts down.
It didn't matter if the disk was in the Playon or not. It didn't matter what I did in the menu. I could change the language if I was fast enough, or set an ip address, but always, after a short period, it switched completely off and settings were lost.
Flashing anew with a new download of firmware v7.0.6.r4318 did not help either.
What to do???
