@amorua
I did manage to install rtorrent, and it was a bit hard. and i don't remember what i did. But i'm shure "ipkg-install rtorrent" worked. In the end i don't use rtorrent on my pohd ; I was giving it too much to seed.

to Vonck: Well, now I at least know it is possible. I don't mind it being a bit of a challenge Do you know anything about NFS on Playon!HD? (see my previous post).

Re: [HOW TO] install optware and get transmission, twonky
I have managed to get Twonky installed using the script in the 1st post however when I try and play a file back on the xbox 360 i get the following error code - Status code:69-c00d36b2 but I can play the same file from my synology nas drive. I have read that it could be something to do with the codec has anyone else the same issue and know how to resolve. I am using Twonky version 5.1.2 from what I can see on the status page. I have tried removing any weird characters to the format is just "24 S07E23.avi" and "24 S07E23.mpg" even though the file is an avi to fool the system to see if thats the issue but no the same issue is there.
Anyone got any ideas ?

Re: [HOW TO] install optware and get transmission, twonky
Hello,
I need help on my Transmission - please?
I'm always getting this error message once it completes, specially for downloaded file which is not sitting in the root "Work" directory. Unless the downloaded file sits in the root directory of "Work" folder, usually the file sit inside its own subfolder inside "Work" directory - so for these file I will get this error message always:
"Error: No such file or directory (/mnt/C/Torrent/work/xxxxxmoviefilenamexxxxx/)" - in the line.
And that's it, the download file lost, I could not even find it anywhere else, even it is stated as 100% completed.
My question: What happens actually? I didnt change any setting in Transmission config file. How can I change downloaded folder for each of the file to only sit in root "Work" folder without any subfolder again?
Thanks again for any advice please.
BR - Arc.

Re: [HOW TO] install optware and get transmission, twonky
^^ this is happening due to two additional supporting scripts that work with transmission called watchdog and movemedia. it had been giving me nightmares too so i just deleted both of them. maybe there could be a work around.
on the same topic. after installing optware from here and configuring transmission with not many changes... it starts to work but then hangs the entire opt bit. meaning i cant access ftp either. the player can still be used. i thought it could be because of ntfs so successfully created an extra ext3 partition on the internal hdd and now have it mounting as /tmp/hdd/volumes/HDD1. transmission after this worked a little better but end result is still the same and it all hangs up. there are a couple of posts that suggest this is due to certain bugs in current build of transmission 1.80-1 (from the transmissionbt forum).
any other suggestions i can try?

Hello dheerajjotwani, How can I delete these two files please? I'm not really unix/linux command-familiar yet Would you like to guide me where I can find these two files and how to delete them? Thank you again for your advice. BR - Arc.

kawakinho wrote: So I went and: 0. Re-flashed firmware and removed /tmp/hdd/root/opt, rebooted, installed your script, etc, and verified the problem was still there; 1. Created a new directory "config" under /mnt/C/Torrent 2. Removed (rm-rf) /tmp/hdd/root/opt/home/transmission/.config 3. Changed /opt/etc/init.d/S90transmission (changed CONFIGDIR=/mnt/C/Torrent/config)
4. settings.json now resides in /mnt/C/Torrent/config 5. Tweaked it to include authentication and so forth. 6. Changed root's and ryan's passwd 7. Rebooted a few times already
Tested ok.
I'm not sure about the watchdog. crontab -l returns no entries, so, although I checked /opt/etc/trans_watchdog.conf, I'm not sure whether it's doing anything.
Hello JR, May I have your advice please on your points above: 1. Created a new directory "config" under /mnt/C/Torrent >> This one can be done from Windows mapped drive... 2. Removed (rm-rf) /tmp/hdd/root/opt/home/transmission/.config >> I'm pretty new to linux command line >> Is the command looks like " [PoHD ~]rm -rf /tmp/hdd/root/opt/home/transmission/.config" ??? 3. Changed /opt/etc/init.d/S90transmission (changed CONFIGDIR=/mnt/C/Torrent/config) >> How is the command like, please? Do I need to use vi in front to edit? 4. settings.json now resides in /mnt/C/Torrent/config >> What is in .json file? - I think I can see some example from its website. Thanks in advance for your advice BR - Arc.

Yes it can, provided you have samba running, although you'll be needing telnet anyhow, so... archie1810 wrote: 2. Yes, or simply "[PoHD ~]rm -rf /opt/home/transmission/.config" archie1810 wrote: 3. Yes, you need to use vi, or nano, if it's installed. "[PoHD ~] vi /opt/etc/init.d/S90transmission" There's a way of doing it with sed directly from the command line, but that's beyond my domain... archie1810 wrote: 4. settings.json now resides in /mnt/C/Torrent/config >> What is in .json file? - I think I can see some example from its website. It defines transmission-daemon parameters. check the original that you delete on /opt/home/transmission/.config/transmission-daemon/settings.json archie1810 wrote: Thanks in advance for your advice No prob. You can also use an alternative, which is create a link under /tmp/hdd/root/opt/home/transmission/ pointing .config to somewhere else. Or do as I did in the end - connect the POHD to the PC; enlarge part3 to the maximum possible and that's it (in linux, of course, as it it an ext3 partition). I actually shrunk the NTFS partition, sled the swap partition back a bit and enlarged part3 to 512MB Cheers

Hello Kawakinho, Thanks for the precious advice How can I do this extension of ext3 partition - the linux way, please? Or how can I find the guide somewhere? Do I have to reformat my NTFS partition first? - Hope not. BR - Arc.
