This is my problem:
Can Connect to PC from PlayON HD but get error when trying to connect from PC. On PlayonHD shows playonhd under workgroup but needs username and password to connect. I know this is covered somewhere in this post but cannot find specific to this type of problem. Must I try the reg key. I did once but it did not work. I am running the latest official firmware on the playonHD2 with SAMBA turned on and connection to a Netgear 220DGN wireless modem. Please help

Yes I did but only up to the part on the reg key. I did the changes under network settings and that is why i can access my PC hdd from the plaoynhd. However when trying to access playon hd from my pc i get a connection error. It says the remote pc is not allowing connection. Also when on the playonhd under workgroups under network I can see both my PC and and playonhd however when trying to access playonhd i am asked to enter username and password and nothing I try works. I know other users are having the same problem but I cannot seem to find a proper solution to my problem and I have tried them all. I am hoping someone can help.

I am going to try the registry entries and then reflash the firmware. Like I said I am using the latest official firmware r7317 and not sure if i should try a previous version? I have even turned on uPnP on my router. Any other suggestions? My only issue is accessing the Playonhd from my Windows7 PC.

Looks like firmware issue. Flashed back to 5440 and works fine. Going to try changing to other and see which one it stops working on. Should I try latest Beta?
