People seem to be confused about how to describe the timing change to fix the double key press problem on devices when using a Logitech Harmony remote so I went the opposite extreme of bad description.



When adding the Playon!HD as a device it is located under Computer, Media Center PC, AC Ryan, like all of the other network media players. It will show up correctly. The only thing I changed so far besides the timing fix was changing to 'OK' button on the Harmony 880 to Enter instead of select. That way it works the same way as the OEM remotes contol and select navigation buttons work.

The timing you want to adjust to stop the double navigation movement is through the troubleshooting interface. It is not the 'Adjust the delays (speed settings)'. I know the Harmony configuration sofware is horrible.






Then select 0.



No more double movement when navigating menus.

This is fantastic information.

thanks for your solution about double key press,it works good.
Unfortunately i did not manage to fix the ok/enter problem.
The PlayOn HD do not receive any information when i press ok on my Harmony 525.
Is there somebody who could help me to fix it with details like screenshots about this operation ?

Two things are possibly going on.

1. The most likely cause is you do not have the correct device selected when attempting to use the OK button after changing it.
2. Or you really have not changed the setting in the device within the Harmony software.

Since I have a different remote, it might be slightly different than yours but what I found was that after choosing the 'watch media server' activity the remote ended with the TV as the selected device. Some of the buttons still worked with the Playon!HD through some type of merging that Harmony must be using but not the OK button. Hit device, selected Media Server, and it had all of the expected functions as they should be.

If it is #2 let me know and I will see what I can do to walk you through the device button function change.

For Matt/Seattle: Does the Harmony remote work for ALL buttons on the PlayON HD?

Yes it does, or at least every one I've used. About the only one I haven't is the TV sys.

Yes, All of the buttons I have used are on the Harmony 880 I have. But as far as I know all of the Harmonys are learning remotes, so you can teach it any button you wish by pointing the PlayOn!HD remote at it and pressing the button you wish it to have - this is during the appropriate Harmony software sequence.

You must use their configuration software to program the remotes and you must have Internet access to use it. They store the files on their database. Nice if you needed to change something if you had the remote away from the original computer but a pain none the less.

I hope this How To contest was randomly selected. Your How to on Windows 7 file sharing was much better and more detailed - properly formatted picture size to fit set frame width of the web page (I wanted to makes sure people could read the small text), and good detail.

Hi Matt/Seattle. I am using a Harmony 525 but I am not able to program the OK button on it to enter. I tried the Learn mode and also the Learn Raw mode and both doesnt seem to be working. Can you please help me on the setup? Without the enter I cant use the harmony for playon HD. Its quite frustrating.

We cannot participate, it makes me a sad panda.

We have to actually WORK for the USB drives, sad state of affairs, I know.

What are you doing right now to attempt to change the button layout nwanted?
