 PlayonHD Network access How do you access the Network on the HD?
When browsing, the network can detect Workgroup at times but not always.
Then it asks for Net ID and password, to which I did not set any but putting blanks always results in failed logon.
Also uPnP only detects files on my Vista machines but cannot connect to my XP machines. What do I need to do to get that?

On PC, you can key in "\\venus\" or "\\x.x.x.x\" (your PlayOnHD IP Address) in the address bar. On Mac, press "Command+K" and enter "smb://venus/" or "smb://x.x.x.x/". I notice ID/Password admin/admin works if prompted for credentials.

the documentation that came with the unit doesnt provide any useful info at all.

You can turn OFF this feature by going to setup then system then login control. In case you set it ON and it do prompt you with this login menu, you can keyin admin for ID and 123 for password. By the way, due to network conditions sometimes workgroup might not be accessible or shown in the list.

Re: PlayonHD Network access This is what worked for me:
Tryed admin and my own password and admin and pw 123, but I could only connect as read-only
After making a manual mapping to \\X.X.X.X\hdd1 with user root and pw 123 I could write on the disk.
Would be nice if there where some extra options to create an own user ID instead of using the prefixed ID and Password and that you can assign read or write access to an ID

You can also check this link http://www.acryan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=2269 This will be the standard steps or procedure on how to share files from PC without prompting for a username and password.
