Can at least AC Ryan tell me if it ever gets available.

dts-hd master pass-through
dolbytruehd pass-through

bd-iso

or will this be available in a new line of players.

If it comes available is the expectation then this year ?

Agreed. HD audio is the main reason I bought my Pohd. I know realtek has some license issue with dolby lab, but it should be fixed with the new SDK released this October. I don't mind waiting a bit but at least I want to know when it's coming as promised. And what about flac multi-channel?, I heard it is also fixed in the lastest xtreamer beta firmware. Is it about the limitation of 1073 compared to 1283, or it's all about implementation?

Yup, that's me over there on Hardwarezone, Miko. :grinning:

Hello Eugene; deep respect for the way you keep up with all the questions on hardware zone and the way you manage to answer all of the questions asked. It's a shame that there is no smilie available that shows respect. Otherwise you would get it from me ;)

greetings, Miko

Was curious is the fix for the unit re powering itself after being turned off going to be in this firmware? I remember someone from ACRyan mentioning it in another post.

I have to say I have managed to put my test unit to standby every time the red button was pressed in this new firmware. It appears that this firmware will freeze the last screen and shut down all services and do a proper shutdown in the background before cutting off the display. We will still need users to feedback on this once the firmware is released.

I think I might have found the problem. It only seemed to happen when movie preview is on. and after movie is played. (over the network) not sure on USB or Internal

Nice, can't wait for the new firmware. ;)
Hope that plugins will be available in the future, like nzbget etc.

As informed, Realtek has yet to receive any schedule from Dolby on the TrueHD development. Thus it will not be ready even with the official release of the new firmware.

Interesting, since Dolby TrueHD (and DTS-HD) was supported in the first versions (first batch).

And again, any news on 6-channel LPCM?

Indeed, the very first RTD1073DA media processor was already in development sometime back in 4th quarter 2008. And when it is launched worldwide roughly in May/June this year, all the various HD audio pass-through is already finalised in it. Then comes the new RTD1073DD version which was roughly released in Aug this year, supporting DTS downmix function. HD audio development is then being worked on between Dolby, DTS and Realtek for this RTD1073DD.

Multi-channel LPCM should also be available in the latest development kit. I will have news of this soon from our development team. ;)

Do you mean the big icon in the Home Menu? If so, I'm afraid the text over there will not change according to any menu language changes as that is an image file. Only the smaller icon text will reflect on the menu language changes.

You can expect these to be available on our Playon!HD.

dts-hd master pass-through (already tested) - migration to our firmware will take us at least a few weeks more to test and diagnose, will update once I have any further news of it.
Dolby Digital Plus pass-through (already tested) - same as above
dolbytruehd pass-through (not available) - date to be advised when we have an answer from Realtek.

bd-iso (testing at the moment, so far so good) - eta will be the same as above.

Hope these info helps. ;)
