It's official, our Playon! DVR do support ISO format!

You can now create ISO images out of your DVD disc and have your favourite movies, serials, music videos, etc all compiled in your Playon! DVR. A great way to create your own movie library and playback at your finger tips without having to load/change disc.

ISO images also retains the original DVD menu selection, where you can select your subtitles and language, chapter selection, special preview, etc.

Best of all, ISO format is just a single file! So if you have for example Lords of the Ring trilogy movie, you can have the 3 discs ripped as LOTR1.ISO, LOTR2.ISO, LOTR3.ISO and playback them right off your DVR! You don't have to move a muscle to change discs, just remember to stock enough popcorn for the trilogy marathon!

There are many free DVD ripping software out there but a good (and basically easy to use) one that I'm personally enjoying would be DVDDecrypter. Enjoy your movie!

Is this support in the firmware? I cannot find any newer firmware after version 189.

There is no newer firmware than 189 right now. By the way, the support of ISO format is not firmware related.
Our DVR itself already has support for ISO but somehow this info is missed out on our specifications.
