With VEOLO upcoming, I just feel that the firmware release for Essential is only in my dreams.

They have a new toy to play with, so it's a kind a hopeless situation.

There is internal a fw version for essential

They did test it and some things where not good yet

It's now back to the developers for some adjustments.

Where waiting for the adjustments are tested Ac Ryan can Decide to release it or not.

GUI is so slow. I know that this is an issue during the past versions and should be rectified by now.

It has been discussed in a different thread and a few of us agree that the remote control buttons should have more control over the menus on the playon, Perhaps using the colored buttons as shortcuts on the hd2 or numerical buttons so that the hd also benefits.

I would love to see a faster GUI in the near future.

And the possibility of more customization within the player. This is not Necessary but I think a media player that holds all your films and tv shows which are very personal should be more personal. I like that you can currently change the home screen wallpaper, but it is only on the home screen. How about a Skins option? Being able to apply your own skin like you can with vlc and itunes would be a really nice feature. But as i said this is not necessary.

Another thing that I would love as a feature would be to have a way of telling what you have already watched and what you haven't. Maybe just a small tick in a corner on the thumbnail to say that it has been watched. This would be incredibly useful for me as I have so many documentary's with similar names and I cant remember what I have watched and what I haven't.

Would also be nice to have yamj work across a network, please correct me if this is already possible.

I'd like to be able to see individual files on the Playon!HD2 internal hard drive when I am transferring to it from the networked pc's.

The method I am using is through file manager.

As it stands, when I want to transfer files from a source pc, I can't tell if the files already exists on the hard drive of the Playon because only the folders show on the screen.

If the file already exists, I am not told it exists and it simply makes another copy of it on the Playon's internal hard drive with an amended name.

The files should show. Mine certainly do anyway. Some times you have to wait a min or 2 for them to show but they should show.

Mine have never shown. If I select copy, the files show just fine on the source pc, but when I then attempt to transfer them through file manager to the destination (the Playon) the folders show fine but nothing shows inside of them.

Dear ACR staff, it has been more than 3 months ago since the last firmware release, but are we still far away from a new beta release (eventually)?
