Hello VEOLO owners!

We are happy to announce our new official firmware Version.1.0.0.932 Revision 1.
Below you will find links to download this new firmware together with the change log and instructions on how to install this firmware.

This Firmware is technically / code-wise based on the same r932 we released previously. The one change here is the AC Ryan Server application which we have included and which is necessary to use the Remote app together with the VEOLO.
The new AC Ryan remote app you can get on the Google play store under the following link:

The flashing procedures: There are 2 separate ways to flash the firmware. We recommend that you use the ‘SYSTEM UPGRADE’ when you install this new firmware. In the event of system corruption or when normal ‘SYSTEM UPGRADE’ is not possible: then please use the ‘RECOVERY UPGRADE’ method instead. Please make sure that if you flash the firmware with a USB-stick, that you use FAT32 as file system.

SYSTEM UPGRADE method (*recommended!):
1. Copy both files in the downloaded package, “update_app.zip” and “update_system.zip” to the root
directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to any USB host port of VEOLO.
2. Enter the Settings page, followed by Misc and then to System update and select “Update from
USB/SD Card”.
3. Continue to provide the location of the upgrade package. A message will shortly appear to prompt
for the upgrade when the necessary files are found in the selected location. Click Ok to continue.
4. The unit will reboot and start to upgrade. During upgrading it is common for the unit to reboot once or more.

RECOVERY UPGRADE method:
1. Copy both files in the downloaded package, “update_app.zip” and “update_system.zip” to the root
directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to any USB host port of VEOLO.
2. Switch off the main power to the unit.
3. Press and hold the power button on the side of the unit.
4. Switch on the main power.
5. Release the power button when the upgrading process begins on your display in a moment.
6. During upgrading it is common for the unit to reboot once or more.

!!DO NOT POWER OFF THE UNIT WHILE FLASHING! THIS MIGHT CAUSE DAMAGE AND RESULT IN DEFECTED HARDWARE!

Hi,

this is amazing :o

First, put App in Appstore which can´t work without Firmware update,
then release new Firmware BUT still not working!

So that is it??? Here are masses of users, that complain that the FW is not working and the whole Veolo is not usable, you claim, that there is no personell to fix that because the whole team is working on a FW based on ICS. And then you bring out a remote app, that bases on the old not working FW instead to work on the FW itself??? Sorry, I don't understand that anymore, my Veolo costs 200 Euro and stands now for half a year unusable in the corner. For me A.C.Ryan is settled, never seen such a bad support before...

Hi,

in first post NO comment that we have to run "Server App" on the Veolo,
that is ONLY mentioned in change log :evil:

Anyhow, after upgrade THERE IS NO "Server App" on the Veolo.

I have to repeat:

After you installed the firmware with remote server support, just go to the player application browser and click the Veolo icon to run it. On your phone you have to download the Veolo app from the market and make sure you that it is also connected on the same network as the Veolo. After running the app to your phone it will search for the player and if you have only one Veolo on your network then there is only one Veolo name that will appear. Just select on that and you can control the device using your phone.

i see.
works for me.

but the app on phone crashes whenever i exit from videos section.
always happens, using wireless router, no receivers

How does the Audio and Video functionality work on the Veolo remote app?

It can only see media from internal, ext SD card, external HDD that is connected directly to the Veolo. It will do a quick scan of these medias and display it on your phone for you to control the playback. Cover art for music and movie are supported too if you have it in your media files.
