BTW: Because the 512MB ram is shared linux can only use 306MB.
But I saw, that linux can use more because there is a little bit unallocated RAM!

By changing the boot-parameter I could increase the RAM to 392MB.
I don't know if this will have side-effects, so @AcRyan: Can you contact your devs about that?

can share on how you did it?
is there any possibility to increase graphic memory or something so that flash video player smoother?

Personally I think AC Ryan should consider release necessary component to great developer such M1cha, I believe when a android platform opened to custom ROM, the device can do more wonders.
And as per usual, you can always bark on warranty issue, any custom ROM attempt should void warranty, etc etc.

Please consider it.
now my Ac Ryan Veolo has changed it's purpose. I use Linux Installer and put ubuntu on it, attach external HDD, now it's my 24/7 download machine. Kind of sad, knowing the amount of $$ spent on it.

I'm just accessing bootloader with a UART->USB-Converter to temporary change the bootparams.
You could change the bootparams with a hex-editor and flash it to your box but I never tried that and in case of a mistake you would be lost without an UART.

AND: Acryan didn't said anything about the ram-usage so we don't know if this will have any negative side-effects

I am waiting since November 2011, to solve the problem with Subs in MKV's, in March 2012 i was told that they are Busy to Solve this. But now i think i am just fooled by AC Ryan.

I am not satisfied, but i can not return the product anymore, so i am not using it.
As somebody who lives in the Netherlands very close to AC Ryan headoffice i was suprised that the company put a product on the market that has so many problems with playing video's
Not only MKV's but MP4 do have problems to.

I am in for bèta's to test, as for now it is not doing anything.

Its a bit absurd that veolo cant runt ICS yet, since my chinese nock off tablet for 70 euro can run it, im using it right now to type this message. Connected it to my 42 inch screen via hdmi, its hardware are a single core cortex A8 with mail 400 gpu, 512 mb ram, 4 gb flash, furthermore my chinese tablet can run 3D movies without problems, flash 11.1 and so on.

So if a chinese inferior product can run ICS and have no problems with flash and so on, why cant VEOLO do the same with its superior hardware?

I have a veolo system, but I recently bought a much cheaper but functionally equivalent chinese device, including air mouse combined with keyboard. It officially runs android 2.3, but they are working on ICS. Sounds familiar! :D Actually, the device runs more smoothly than the veolo, in my opinion.

Yesterday, I installed an unofficial ICS version for the chinese device and ICS clearly has some advantages. One of which is, that in ICS the air mouse has a much better resolution, making clicking a specific button much easier. Furthermore, the interface looks better. It also has an extremely annoying feature, the notification/button bar remains visible while playing videos, for instance with pptv. This seems to be a design decision for ICS. All in all, the device runs ICS very smoothly. This gives good hope for the official ICS version for this device and, hopefully, also for the veolo.

Feature request for the ICS version of veolo:
add option to remove system bar. (It may be handy on a mobile phone, but for a media player it is a disaster.)

Have a nice day.
