Hi I just bought the Veolo and I am very happy with it. It is fast for what I use (spotify etc.).

I am new to android so if the answer is in front of me, i am sorry for the question.

I downloaded the Daroon Player but how can I make this the default player. So that all the movies will play with this player.

Also how can I attach a network link from my server in the settings of the app. So that the app search for movies in the folder. The app just can see the sd and internal drive.

I hope you can help me with this.

to achieve this you could root your veolo and than mount your network shares with cifs manager. In Daroon Player you than can select that mounted folder as media folder in it's Settings. This is actually easier than it sounds if you follow the steps. Aprox. 5-10min. i would say

Once you have mounted a network share onto your veolo you can:
1. open daroon player app and press the 'menu' button to goto 'settings'.
2. afterwards choose 'Media Files Scan settings' and than 'Media directories'.
3. click on 'add directory' on the top and browse to the folder you have mounted your network share in
4. click 'ok' and go back to the main menu auf daroon player and it should scan the folder
5. now you can goto dvd folder etc. to playback your dvd folders.


To open videos by default with another app you can easily choose the built-in Es File Explorer from the apps section. You than browse to the file you want to open and click on it and HOLD the mouse button. A little menu pops up and you can choose 'open as'. Now you choose video/audio and select daroon player to open it. Make sure to check the box beneath the daroon player saying 'use by default for this action'.
If you open the file again now it will directly open with daroon player.


Let me know if you guys need some more help with the above and i hope you can give it a try. As mentioned it sounds more difficult than it is. Once you did it it's very easy to repeat the steps.

Unfortunately it's not that easy. When I try to add a directory I only see the local directories, not the network shares.

Do you have any suggestions?

Did you follow the steps above and mounted your network folders?

Alternatively you can:
1. start VEOLO and goto Files Manager -> Network -> PC -> your dvd directory
2. press 'home' on remote and open daroon player
3. in settings set the folder where it looks for dvd's to /mnt/smb/mountpoint_01/yourdvdfolder

rescan and daroon should be able to see your dvd's and start them.

Hi, since a few days i have the Veolo and i have installed the daroon player, but he won't read the external harddrive (usb). How can i get the daroon player to read the USB external harddrive?

Please follow the steps below.

1. Run the Daroon App.
2. Press "setting button" on the remote (below left button with three squares) , a pop up window will appear below your TV screen and then select "settings".
3. Select Media Files Scan setting.
4. Select Media Directories.
5. Select Add Directory.
6. Select the green color Up Arrow (upper left of the TV screen).
7. Select "mnt" folder.
8. Select "sda" or "sdb" (depending on how many USB are connected) then press OK and your done.

I had to set the original settings back, so i've lost all my downloads. Now I want to install Daroon Player again, but i can't find the app knowhere. Can anybody help my with this so I can play all my dvd folders?
