Post [tools] z4root: rooting your VEOLO
Hi guys,

with the help of an app called 'z4root' for example it's easily possible to root your VEOLO player and obviously get root / superuser access. This will enable you to play around with several terminal emulators and install other things etc. from command line ;)
You can just google this app which i found @ xda developers forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953

* Please be aware that rooting your Player might cause damage to it's system *

In any case you can reflash the firmware if you mess up the player by hammering it with useless commands :)

cheers & happy routing!

Hahaha !!! Googling "Rooting Veolo" got yours at the first list... Hello Arne!
Yes I'm back with Veolo now...... which is indeed a fantastic product.

So, before I do rooting Veolo by that z4root:
1. Could it enhance the storage capacity into the memory card instead of internal capacity within Veolo itself?
2. Could I install app into the memory card instead of into the internal Veolo storage?
3. Hopefully re-flashing Veolo's firmware is as easy as PlayOn!HD --- am I right?

Thanks.

BR - Arc.

Hi Archie,

glad you're back on vEOLO now ;) - directly to your questions:

1.
not sure what you mean but you can choose the 'default storage' and select your SD Card for example so it will use that instead of the internal storage.

2.
At this point this does not work. But to be honest we have for testing installed like 200 apps or something and the storage is really sufficient enough to hold all your favorite apps. It's 2.9GB available after the OS is installed. Will raise this again to be checked. There is an option in the app management to move the app to SDCard which is greyed out at the moment.

3.
Actually it's the same procedure.. you can update in safe-mode or via usb upgrade from the setup menu :)

if you need anything else please feel free to ask.

best regards,

Thanks Arnie :) I've not enough time yet to play with this new toy hahaha...
And btw - the answer #2: when you say will be increase its internal storage - does that mean hardware upgrade is on the roadmap for the next new version? While the grey out seems to be firmware based activation right?

Thanks again.
:D

rehi,

as for #2 i don't have this information. There might be something coming but this the future will tell.

The greyed out 'move to sdcard' seems to be firmware related but i have raised this to our developers to let them check if it can 'activated'.

Have a good day!

WORKS GREAT!!!

Install the apk and open the app, click on root en done! The device reboots and after that he is rooted :D:D

Its great, I have a own forum about Android phones (galaxy phones) and I use Android allot.
Now I have a media player on Android cool man, and also rooted :):) like my phone etc.

Its better to have it rooted, so now I can delete the advertisments on apps and games and much more.

Thanks for this, works well!!
