NFS: how to make ext USB HDD in router visible
Hi, My 73100 is wireless connected to a Zyxel 2812 router/gateway. This router has a USB port with an USB external HHD plugged in: I'd like to access this HDD from the 73100 with the NFS function. According to the NFS, it needs an IP address and a map. The IP will be the IP of the router I assume, but I cannot figure out the correct map to enter. I've tried the obvious ones like station name, /root, name HDD, in all thinkable combinations, nothing works.
Any help ?? Best Regards, V.

Re: NFS: how to make ext USB HDD in router visible
I'm not 100% but if it's like the other Zyxels I've used it'll be SMB (Windows workgroup stylee) sharing, not NFS.
Have you enabled sharing on the router, created the user account(s) etc? If so, you should have seen the default share name, or have setup a new share. The default share name is usually the ID of the USB device, so you'll probably want to create one with something more user friendly if you haven't already.
Once you've got the share name, you should be able to access it on the player using \\IP ADDRESS\sharename - ie \\192.168.0.1\myshare - then it should prompt you for the username and password you created on the router to access the share. Alternatively, if you've got something on the network that can act as a browser master, you should be able to browse to it.
Hope that helps,
Ray Von

Here's a link to a manual for the 2812 - it is SMB sharing, I can't find a mention of NFS being supported - The relevant section you want is "3.6 - Using the file sharing feature" - explains it much better than I could Ray Von

Thanks, Ray. I gave the same reply in the Dutch section of the forum and will lock this topic because of cross posting.
