Samba - logon failure: unknown user or bad password
I have a problem in which suddenly I am unable to access my veolo as host from my laptop (Win 7) as I used to be able to do.
Everytime I attempt to access my veolo as host from my laptop, I am always asked for username and password. Whatever I fill in for the user name and password, I always get "logon failure: unknown user or bad password" message.
In my veolo's network settings, the Samba is running. The username is administrator, which somehow cannot be changed. The password is not activated.
My configuration is as follows: A portable hard disc is connected to my veolo via usb cable. My veolo is connected to a wireless router using cable. My laptop is connected to the router via wireless connection.
I would be grateful if I can get a solution to my problem.
Thanks

Hi, the only settings you have for the Veolo is to turn ON Samba service which you already did. I suggest for you to reboot your router and wait for atleast five minutes before you try to access it again. If still cannot then you might have to check and reconnect the Veolo to your Network. Hope you can try it out.

Hi Roger, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, the problem still remains. Is there any other suggestion that I can try to solve the problem?

Try accessing the device using its IP Address. On your Win7 Start -> search bar just keyin \\veolo IP (ex. \\192.168.x.xx). If it still cannot then you have to at least try reinstalling the software for the Veolo. You can also try using a different portable disk for testing.
