Hi,

I have connected the PlanonHD2 to my Rotel Pre-Processor (SP 1069) using a HDMI cable and use the HDMI outto my TV Sony Bravia capable of 1080p.
I do not see any video by audio looks ok from the AMP

I tried setting PlayonHD2 to 1080p 50 Hz and then 60 Hz and all sequence of power up but to no avail.

What is the issue and how?
How do I get HDMI video to work in the above setup ?

If you connect it direct to your tv do you have picture then ?

try 720p, are you sure your sp1069 is capable of passing through the full hd signal ?

I tried connecting the PlayonHD2 to the TV directly and it works fine at 1080P 60Hz.
Yes the RSP 1069 supports full HD at 1080p

ACRyan support responded to me the since the RSP 1069 is HDMI 1.1 and the PlayonHD2 is HDMI 1.3 the only option was to use component video.

I though HDMI would be backward compatible and HDMI 1.3 is quite advanced for most devices the only major true benefit as of now is lip sync , deep color and the rest of the signal supported by 1.3 is a nice to have since most sources and recordings do not use it yet.

So if that is the issue its sad that there is no feature to run the PlayonHD2 in HDMI 1.1 mode.
I wonder if that is a possibility and a possible enhancement request.

Don't think that will be possible. Anyhow if it's hdmi 1.1 you have your answer

Excellent support from PlayonHD ..I got it to work with the following suggestion from support ..

For your case, first connect the player to your TV directly using HDMI cable. Go to SETUP > VIDEO > DEEP COLOR > Disable it by selecting 'OFF'.

Disconnect the HDMI cable and re-configure the set to connect back to your AVR. Check if you can get the signal on your TV after the re-configuration.
