 No activity, no power
Hi, I live in Canada, I bought PlayOn!HD in February 15th. It worked just fine until today with a 320Gb hard drive. Now I have a problem with my unit, when I turn On there is no Blue on power button, I can see the logo-screen AC Ryan PlayOn!HD for a couple seconds on my TV screen and nothing, no internal activity, no video signal, seems to be no power inside, the fun and HDD are not powered up. When I turn off the power button is showing red. PLEASE HELP, You can contact me at butadaniel@gmail.com.

 Re: No activity, no power
Try a manual safe update
Safe-Mode Reflash
Download the latest firmware from our download section or our latest beta version from our forums, also download the extensions. Unzip your downloaded zips onto an empty USB stick. Make sure that the files within the zips are unzipped within the root of the USB stick. Disconnect the power cable from the Playon!HD. Put your USB stick into one of the USB ports of the Playon!HD. Push the power button and hold it pushed. Connect your power cable again. Hold the power button pushed until you get a screen which says that the firmware is updating. Do not release the power button between the time of connecting the power cable and the appearing of the screen. After firmware update the Playon!HD will reboot itself, with the extensions installed and you're done.

I tried to reflash (Safe-Mode Reflash) exactly like you said: "Download the latest firmware from our download section or our latest beta version from our forums, also download the extensions. Do not release the power button between the time of connecting the power cable and the appearing of the screen. After firmware update the Playon!HD will reboot itself"NO CHANCE, doesn't work...when push the power button, I can see the the logo-screen AC Ryan Playon!HD stucked on it. I stayed 30 minutes like this but no screen which says that the firmware is updating. I think my unit is dead, no power inside, no activity on hard drive and fun. I send en e-mail to tech@acryan.com for technical description (after registration of my box), but no response yet. Should I call someone in technical stuff? Is there anyone with the same problem?

 Re: No activity, no power
one question: did you keep pressing the powerbutton for at least two minutes? even when the light goes out again. also try an other usb thumbdrive. normally pressing the powerbutton for 6 or a few more seconds should be enough, but when in this state you need to press it over two minutes. it will first show you the logo, then after a 30 or 40 seconds will shut off and then on again, then after again a second or 20 it will enter the setup of the firmware. if this does not help. then it really is broke. but i had the same problem, and needed to do it this way. i really hope it works for you as well.

 Re: No activity, no power
Yes I tried a couple of times, even I waited 30 minutes with the power button pressed, I changed also the USB port, even the AC adapter, I got only the logo all the time, the screen never shut off to enter firmware setup… Do you think if it’s possible to be replaced if I’ll call the web store? I hope yes because I have this unit for only 2 months. I find bizarre that is no mention concerning warranty (1 month, 6 or more), it is just a registration of the box and that’s all. I would like to know some similar experiences (refund or replacement). Thank you everyone for your support.

 Re: No activity, no power
as far as i know there is at least one year of warranty, maybe even two (that i`m not sure, also i`m not sure if it is different or the same in all country`s) for that you need to adress the question directly to a ACRyan Sytaff member.
