 DVB-C problem
When I looking on specifications, it seems that Playon!DVR-HD is probably best videorecorder-player ever created and I desire to buy one of these ASAP, but unfortunately its digital TV-tuner is compatible only with DVB-T, but not with DVB-C. Here in Estonia only four FTA DVB-T channels, but our cable operators have in their cable 100+ DVB-C channels.
When will be come on sale Playon!DVR-HD digital TV/cable hybrid version (DVB-T + DVB-C) with CI interface (or Conax CAS7 smartcard reader)? Anybody knows?
P.S. Of course I can use separate DVB-C tuner and connect its composite output to Playon!DVR AV-input, but if additional DVB-C tuner also connected directly to TV (via HDMI or component), then using Playon!DVR timeshift feature is complicated and needs to use all 3 remote controls.

 Re: DVB-C problem
does your DVB-C operator uses encryption ? or the 100 channels are free to air and you just connect the coaxial directly to the TV with no decoder what soever?
if they are free to air its going to work
I have connected Playon!HD DVR with my DVB-C operator and i get all the free to air channels they are sending on the other hand i dont have access to the channels they are sending encoded and can be only accessed by their own decoder .
but i cant tell for you 100% certain
Kind Regards,

 Re: DVB-C problem
I have tested this here in Germany and the scan finds absolutely no free air dvb-c channels.
Its also not logical that this works for you due the reason that DVB-T uses COFDM (Coded Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing) with QPSK or sometimes QAM-16 or 64 modulation and DVB-C uses a simple QAM-64 or higher modulation. I have no datasheed about the assembled tuner, but for me this does not working with dvb-c. 100% secure...
