Post [Official] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r5440
Hello Playon!HD Mini2 owners!

We are happy to announce our new official firmware.
Below you will find links to download this new firmware together with the change log and instructions on how to install this firmware.

We have turned off 'Setup>System>Auto Scan' by default. This means that the main menu 'Movie/Music/Photo' selection will not be accessible until this function has been turned on and scanned your local storage. You can use 'Files Manager' or the new 'Shortcuts' for quick access of your files. We have done this change due to the possibility of adding 'Shortcuts' and to save resources of the player for those who don't want to have this function on.

Hello,

Yes this was mainly for the YouTube fix as this is a very popular internet feature that was not working since a couple of weeks.

I love this firmware ! It's a huge improvement.

One thing I would love to have is a option in the config to Use the Files remote button to go to the Shortcuts. (since I use the Shortcuts way more than the Files).
This should be easy to implement I guess?

Regards, Bas.

In other topic it was hinted to put shortcut as first menu-item (that way you just press ok-button to get there), that's much better in my opinion.
And as long as the shortcuts cause a reboot when the network is not properly detected, i have to use filemgr most of the time... so plz leave that button alone! :)

haha, don't worry. I was talking about an optional config setting. ;)
..but shortcuts as a first menu-item would be sweet aswell.

Thanks

Since I bought this device when it first appeared on the market in Holland, I was quite disappointed. It felt like I had bought a development kit, without the possibility to actually develop! :(

However, I have been following the firmware updates all along, and I appreciate the increasing efforts from ACRyan to make this nifty little device the media-player I have always wanted. :) Keep up the good work guys!

Personally, I really appreciate the addition of the sleep-timer for the hard-disk. Sometimes I leave the box on, to upload some movies to the connected hard-disk. Now at least, I don't have to worry about letting it on by accident too much. Another welcome addition is the on/off option of the auto-scan feature. The library functionality never really caught on to me, and the scanning delay at startup is simply annoying then.

My professional advice to ACRyan? Let somebody with an Interaction Design background sit down with the device and focus on the library functionality in particular. It's not so easy to get it right, but letting an engineer built a GUI is simply asking for trouble. On a personal note, I'd like to see WOL functionality. However, as I understood, this not up to ACRyan, but something for Realtek to implement.

Hi,
I just upgraded the firmware (24 feb. version to the latest one) and now in the movies menu the files .ifo and .vob show. I have more then 1 DVD so you can imagine what a hassle it will be to find the right movie.
Before the firmware upgrade also the movie picture showed and when selecting it the PlayonHD started playing the DVD.

I'm asuming I'm doing something wrong here but I've been browsing the forums, the Mini etc. for several hours now with no resolution.

Anyone got a suggestion for me?

Kind regards,
Serleena

Put all your Video's in separate folders.
It will look much better this way and you won't have the problems you got now.
