First to the Firmware:
Check the following links for the Downloads and the Change Log including a Guide How to update it correctly! Please make sure you grab the right firmware for your player!

Flashing Procedures:
Two methods to flash the firmware to your Playon!HD Mini2.

System update method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Go to Setup>Misc>USB Upgrade and press 'Enter' on your remote control to confirm.
4. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

Safe-Mode method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Shutdown the player.
4. Press and hold down the power button in front of the player for 15sec.
5. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

!! DO NOT POWER OFF THE UNIT WHILE FLASHING! THIS MIGHT CAUSE DAMAGE AND RESULT IN A DEFECT UNIT !!


To the bug-tracker:
Due to the increasing amount of users on this forum and also devices that we release/released the past months we have created a separate Email account for our users. This will give you the possibility to send us a direct email with the Bugs you encounter with our players. We have noticed that it is getting more and more difficult to keep track of all the forum posts to filter out the bugs. So this will basically and hopefully help us and you guys to increase the productivity and the whole firmware development process.
Please use this email carefully and only send Bug-related Emails. If you need technical help or have any other questions please still use the forum and / or our official support email or phone.

To make it easier for us to identify the emails please do give us the details about the hardware/software you are using which includes:
1. Player model: e.g. PV73800 for the Mini2
2. Firmware version: e.g. r2988 for the current Mini2 firmware
3. Reproducability: always / sometimes / random etc.
4. Setup: how are you connected? Via AV Receiver / TV / Router / Switch / Wireless / Wired etc.
5. Operating System (optional): Windows 7 / XP / 2000, Linux (distro)
6. Description of problem: please write an understandable description of the problem so that we can reproduce / confirm this.

But you must surely update your initial post on this topic with the known bugs as they pour in?

1 Saves people from reporting the same bugs over and over and over and over and over and over
2 Displays for the forum users that you actually take ownership of the bug

Yes we will create a Buglist with confirmed bugs and will add it to the initial post of this thread. So you will see which bugs are known and have been confirmed.

Hey, that's neat.

I have MP3s and FLACs arranged in folders by artist - a main folder containing sub-folders of the artist's albums. I noticed that if I press play on the main folder it plays all the tracks of each album in turn without having to select the subsequent folders after listening to the first.

Forgive me if this feature has always been there in previous releases but I've only just discovered it. Like I said above - neat.

Now developers, get rid of the black bar across the top of the screen and I'll be a very happy bunny indeed.

I could not agree more! It's so intrusive. Why did they add it in the first place is beyond me!

I installed the V9.5.5.r2988 Mini2 and as expected AC Ryan again didn't do their homework very well.
Since yesterday I had numerous reboots when playing a simple DVD File.
I'm realy getting sick of the performance of AC Ryan. What a mess.
There are also many new bugs in the new firmware which have already been mentioned
on this forum. I expect the new firmware will again take months to be developed.
I realy realy regret buying the HD mini2 device.

I'm experiencing none of the bugs you guys are. One time the play banner got stuck but that's it, my mini 2 plays everything without a hitch. The only gripe I have is the menu. The "bling" should be replaced for speed, functionality and simplicity. I think it would be a good idea if ACR opened up the firmware to the community for modding. It could even boost sales if it becomes known the firmware is open for modding. The same thing has happened in the past with Philips dvd players. Once it became known there was(is) great alternative firmware to be found on boards.softpedia a lot more of them were sold.

My suggestion is that they answer the question publicly rather than answering it over and over again for every individual who has to email them.
