No sound at all! No surround or stereo through receiver
Recently I've given myself the new Denon AVR 2113. But after connecting everything properly and sitting down to watch a movie, there was no sound whatsoever from my AC Ryan HD Mini 2 through my receiver.
Other things I've connected to my receiver (Bluray player, PS3) work just fine, in surround and stereo. I tried 20 movies and a couple cd's, to make sure I got something with surround sound, but none of them gave any sound through my Denon.
Google the problem online gave alot op people who got stereo but no surround whom had to update there AC Ryan, so I tried the same but without any result. But when I connect the AC Ryan directly to my TV it works just fine. I've also tried both HDMI LPCM and Passthrough but that made no difference.
I hope someone could help me, so I can finally fully enjoy my new receiver.
For extra info, my complete setup: AC Ryan HD Mini 2 Denon AVR 2113 Panasonic TXP-42ST30E (everything with the latest firmware)

Re: No sound at all! No surround or stereo through receiver
Another problem I had with my receiver was that it wouldn't react through HDMI control or give sound through HDMI ARC. But after consorting with a colleague about my problems with my new receiver, he suggested unplugging the AC Ryan for they are know to mess up HDMI control. And indeed after unplugging the AC Ryan everything worked just fine.
So now I'm pretty certain there is nothing wrong with my receiver and it's just the firmware from my AC Ryan that's faulty. But since this is just one of many incapabilities I've encountered with the AC Ryan within not even a year, I think I just have to count my losses and look for a other, better mediaplayer.

The AC Ryan players do cause problems with HDMI CEC, if you Google "HDMI CEC pin 13 fix" you should get some guides on modifying cables to fix that issue, alternatively you can get a CEC Less HDMI cable. If you do decide to go for a different media player and you still want to use CEC/ARC, be sure to do your homework - it's a fairly common problem across the board. Ray Von

Re your first problem - have you set the Mini 2 to "passthrough" in system setup, and do you get any status lights on the receiver?

Re: No sound at all! No surround or stereo through receiver
Thanks, But I've already changed the HDMI setting to passthrough and that didn't made a difference. There still no sound. My receiver says stereo, but that what it always says. But I bought a other mediaplayer yesterday that works just how I want to. I especially appreciate sound with my movies Furthermore, the problem with the messed up HDMI CEC is something I'd encountered before on my job at a HiFi store. I just never gave it any thought. My colleague do, has encountered it multiple times. But only with AC Ryan's. That's why I've decided to send it back to the store. It's a nice mediaplayer, but i think for a bit more money i can buy a stabler device.

Hi there, sorry for any inconvenience. I would like to inform you both even though it is too late that CEC issue is not anymore appearing on HD2 and Mini2 as we already disable the pin that supports CEC.

Hi Roger, Do you mean there's been a hardware fix on newer revisions of the Mini 2, or that it has been fixed through a firmware update on all Mini 2s? I'll have to test it if the latter (I've got a fix in place) but I always figured that a firmware fix couldn't sort the problem, since the Mini 2 interferes with CEC even when the power is disconnected.
