Post Youtube video downloaded as mp4 is an unsupported media
My AC Ryan Playon Mini2 HD now does not play Youtube files. Did Youtube changed their API again?
Not only is the youtube inaccessible, the youtube video that I downloaded on my PC in mp4 format (it plays on my PC) does not play from the AC Ryan,
Please help.

Hello,

If you search on the term 'YouTube' here on our forum you will find very many threads with this issue.
This is a general issue at this moment. We have reported this to our developers. You can for now (since you have Mini2) use YouTube XL, this should work. You can use full screen by pressing the 'zoom' button in YouTube XL.

The downloaded movies you have from YouTube most likely has a format settings called: VP6. Some of the YouTube video files has this setting and our Realtek products don't support this. You can confirm this by getting a free software that is called mediainfo and check the files. Let me know if they would not have VP6 as format setting :)

Best regards,

A simple workaround for these downloaded files is to quickly re-encode them with Handbrake to a compliant format.

When sites such as YouTube change their formats as the have done, it is more difficult for the players to get updated to play them than any PC.

The fact that they play on your PC is not a real indicator as PC software is a lot more forgiving.
