Post Using playlist for video files over network
My configuration is wireless connection with my home network, more precisely with shared folders of pc. My desire is to play music videos from playlist (playlists are saved on pc). I tried M3U and PLS format playlists with videos files. The problem is that player tries to open video files as music files. If I try to load M3U playlist nothing happens. When I try to load a PLS playlist, playback is starting but only sound and no video.

P.S. I forgot to mention my firmware is the latest v9.5.5.r7317

I found something interesting in the Playon!DVR-HD forum:

The m3u function does not work with video mpegs (mpg files) with this latest firmware. I have not tried it for mp3s. The m3us played perfectly under the old GUI firmware.

Hi fhb5,

.m3u function for mp3 files still works.
.m3u function for video files are not longer available due to changes on the SDK4 platform which removes Playlist function that was available on SDK3.

My question is to the support - is there any chance in the future firmware release this problem can be fixed?

Hi, as far as I know .m3u "playlist" for video is not supported on our set. I can say yes with .m3u for music.

The only thing I remember is that on the old platform, playlist is generally supported in the Menu. Meaning under the browser, you can have Music, Video, Photo and Playlist. You can have each media to have their own playlist. This support for playlist in the player menu is not anymore included in the new platform specially for Video. Sorry to say that there is no possible way it will be added in the current platform.
