How does the thumbnail display work?
I've noticed if I do the following:
create a folder on the NAS called FILM copy FILM.MKV into FILM folder put image.jpg into FILM folder
When browsing to the folder structure, say: it's
NFSSHARE/2011/FILM
and I browse to NFSSHARE/2011
I will see the thumbnail image correctly AND that when I open the folder I only see 1 file, i.e. FILM.MKV.
I like this feature and thats what I want to happen. But it does do it every time.
Is there some rules in place as to how you have to name things to get this to work everytime? e.g. image.jpg has to be a certain size.

Re: How does the thumbnail display work?
you should name the .jpg according to the movie name i.e. batman.avi should have batman.jpg in it.
cheers,

Re: How does the thumbnail display work?
Can I have folder images and movie images at the same time? I have a folder with some movies in. For each movie I have a preview image: movie1.mkv -> movie1.jpg, movie2.mkv -> movie2.jpg, asf. Now I put a "folder.jpg" into the folder to have a nice icon on that folder in the directory above. But now the folder images overrides all movie images and all movies get the same icon. What did I wrong?
Regards, Nugman

Re: How does the thumbnail display work?
Try renaming folder.jpg to 0001.jpg. I use it all the time....
What version of firmware are you using, This works correctly wit r7317.

Re: How does the thumbnail display work?
When I rename the file to 0001.jpg, it's not recognized at all. The folder icon shows one of the movie images. I run Firmwar r7317. Any suggestions?

Re: How does the thumbnail display work?
There's something funny going on here. I am also using 7317 and have my folders structured like so:-
Movies->Action
In the Action directory, I have for example the following files:-
0001.jpg Blade.mkv Blade.jpg Easy Rider.mkv Easy Rider.jpg Matrix.mkv Matrix.jpg
Whn I use file manager and navigate to the Movies directory, the Action directory is shown with the 0001.jpg image. I have this working for literally hundreds of movies and thousands of TV shows.
Are you sure that you haven't got the Windows extension display turned off and renaming them incorrectly or something? Also, don't forget as the player runs Linux, it is case sensitive.

I have this working for literally hundreds of movies and thousands of TV shows. Well, that's exactly what I did, but it didn't work for me. The file is named "0001.jpg" now, no way to mess up the case except for the extension, but I'm sure it's lowercase and unique. Forgot to mention that the files are located on a Samba-Share on my server. Do you have local files on a USB Disk or do you use a NAS or something? Best regards, Nugman

Re: How does the thumbnail display work?
Tested on USB local disks, Windows shares and NAS 200.
All working fine. 0001.jpg displays at folder level and then movies use individual jpgs when I navigate to folder.
There has to be something funny happening here.
Can you set up a windows share and drop a couple of files in it and test?
