Post [HOW-TO] Using DLNA Feature to stream 'to' our players.
I noticed that some of our users have problems with the DLNA feature of Windows Media Player to stream to our players. So here's a short how-to on this subject.

First, you should of course be connected to the network and have an IP. In addition, DLNA DMR feature has to be enabled in the SETUP -> SYSTEM -> DLNA DMR. You can also change the 'device name' - important for 1).

1.) In your Windows network environment, you see now an extra device called Realtek embedded UPnP Render () - among other devices (usually at the bottom)

2.) Double click on this device - Windows will install the correct drivers automatically for the device.

3.) Start Windows Media Player and choose one of your media files. Click with the right mouse button on it and choose 'play to' and then your player (Realtek embedded UPnP Render ())

4.) the media file will now be played to (pushed to) your AC Ryan media player.

For more information on how-to activate this feature in windows media player please refer to:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... ream-media

NOTE: in some cases it's needed to first deactivate DLNA DMR and re-enable it in SETUP -> SYSTEM -> DLNA DMR

best regards,

Hi Arne,

Interesting post (I thought).
But at step 1. I already ran into trouble.
No Realtec visible :? (turned the UPnP to visible)
When I start up Media player and goto bestanden delen... (I use a dutch version) I do see the realtec and media player lets me activate it.
After that there's still no media (music) pushed through to my HD mini 2.

Any Idea?

Using an windows XP configured machine and a wired LAN

many thanks in advance :)

regards
Alex...

Windows XP does not support the Play to feature. Sorry to say but this is Windows 7 exclusive. You can of course try using a mobile device (iOS, Symbian, Android).

Hi,

when I try to do this I find that the HD2puts a message on the screen saying it is going to start the DNLA renderer.
then it reboots!

any ideas what I am doing wrong?

This option is not very stable depending with which devices you want to use it. Are you using Windows / iOS / Android or something else? It also depends what content you are trying to push. We have noticed for example there seems to be more problems with fotos than for example with music.

Hi,

I was using MyNet on an android tablet (ASUS Transformer.
I was trying to play an m2ts file from a twonkyserver on a QNAP to the HD2.
(life is complicated. :-) ).
that said it also 'fell over' on simply trying to play music files as well.

I have been having the same problems. Tried as well from an HTC HD2 with Android having the library on my PC (windows 7) and an external harddisk pluged to my router Netgear WNDR3700v2. DLNA is quite unstable on the MINI HD2.

I have tried different apps from the store and i am still experiencing the same problem. I am able to pass the play 'command' but only once. the second time it will reboot. It seems as though it cannot process or handle too many commands at the same time. Volume works sporadically.

mini HD2 is wired and i just upgraded to the latest firmware.

There may not be many people that use this fuction, but i think it's because they don't know that it's there.

Is this going to be fixed??

This could definately be a real nice feature if it worked correctly.

You don't really need an external app.
All UpnP DLNA media servers are visible in the Filemanager section of the HD2 when DLNA DMR is enabled

Select Filemanger->UPnP->ReadyDLNA-WNDR3700 for your router
For the WNDR3700 you should see.
Browse folders-Pictures-Music-Video.

Check to see if this working all right.
