 rebooting
Hi Can anyone help me out i am new to this type of thing my Playon 73100 has just gone haywire when i start it up it goes to the start up logo then just keeps rebooting this happens with a hard drive in or not to switch it off the only way is to pull the plug i have never changed the firmware since i bought the unit when i connect it to a pc and switch it on it hangs on the logo screen and dosn't reboot the pc sees the hard drive ok most of the folders are empty but the pc says that 45gig of the hard drive is used i am not very conversent with some of the terms used in the forum have you any ideas for me to try and cure this problem many thanks jezzer

Two actions: 1. Error check the hard disk of your Playon with your PC: attach the Playon to the PC with the USB cable, in the Windows Explorer right click on the drive letter of your Playon, select Properties and the tab Extra and erro checking. 2. Execute this recovery procedure to the letter.

thanks took a while but worked a dream different interface than before but no problem the only thing is the pc will not see the HDD any more via usb i can live with that very glad for the help jezzer

You're welcome. You did not write which firmware you had before and the recovery procedure takes you all along to the latest firmware. If you like the old interface better, install firmware 4824, using the safe method described in the change log. This might also help you to reestablish the USB function of the Playon, but I make no promises.

i think i will leave things as they are IT'S WORKING thats all i wanted the networks fine for transfering stuff at least i am back in action i am just glad someone out there has a better understanding than some of us and willing to share it that is rare thesedays thanks again jezzer
