Post Can't see Subtitle
After initial setup and subtitle activation, I could see subtitle.
Next time I had a subtitle to see I've tried to select it from remote and "no subtitle available" came out.
Of course there was a SRT file in the same Directory ... Why is that possible?

Is it named exactly the same as the video file?

@ centofiori

Same problem here.
SRT file is in same folder but I cant get the HD mini2 to find/read it.
When I'm playing the same file/folder for example with my laptop there is no problem.
Strange fact seems to be that on one map/file there is no problem for the HD mini2 to reed the subtitle file and on an other map/file there is some kind of problem.
Also manually activating the subtitle doesn't work.

Right Wallie. Looks to be the same problem. What I was going to try is to move each movie and subtitle in a separate folder, while now are all together in a "movie directory" .

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.
I did place all the srt files in one folder, then put them all in the 'root' of the map.
Talking about series here, 3th Rock from the Sun.
It did have all the Dutch subs in a separate folder....that doesn't work.
So made for all the episodes a seperate folder within it the episode and the srt file...doesn't work also.
Did place all the episode together in one folder together with the srt files and still no succes.

I wouldn't know what to do to get it working. Only message I'm getting is 'No subtitles found'.
Now....is there a possibility to tell the Mini were it can find the subs??

Ohh, and I did update the Mini to the latest software....

I didn't mean that but put each episode and its .srt in a single folder. What you said, I've been trying too.

The only way I succeeded was to merge the episode and .srt file with a specific software ... but that's a huge job because takes about an hour for each episode.
A more basic hardware I had before is working with it but did read .MKV but only .AVI format. This one reads all formats but not subtitle. :?:

You say to let know Ryan about this problem .. but that's why we are here... I hope they read our questions, otherwise there is no sense. Cheers

If you use MKVMerge (part of MKVToolnix) it would only take 1 minute an episode.

Post Re: Can't see Subtitle
The problem gets even stranger here.
When I'm playing a movie with hard subs (burn into the file) I'm sometimes loosing the subs?
For example: with the movie Saving Private Ryan (what's in a name....) I'm getting the hard burned subs in the beginning and somewere their gone.
When I'm playing the same file by Laptop the problem isn't there, subs all the movie.
And also with other movies.
All .srt files are in the same folder als the movie, no problem too start the .srt file by laptop but with the AC Ryan no success.
Hitting the button Subtitles shows only the black bar on top saying 'no subtitles found'.
But they are there.
I will try and sort out if names are exactly the same as the movie, not sure there named exactly the same for all the movie folders.

Never the less, since updating to the latest software I'm beginning to think there are more problems with subtitles than before updating.

Strange thing is, the .srt file is in the movie folder, even when not named the same as the movie it should show when pressing the subtitle button? But that doesn't happen.
