We are happy to announce our new beta firmware.
Below you will find links to download this new firmware together with the change log and instructions on how to install this firmware. Please make sure you get the right firmware version for your product.

Fix time indicator mis-matched when doing a time skipping (pressing left/right button) after a GOTO operation

Known issues:
*Please use Setup>System>Screensaver>Options>Default (don’t use ‘Photo Album or ‘Flickr’ or system might crash!)
*Playback of .avi files with NFS protocol will not work.

The flashing Procedures: We have 2x separate ways to flash your firmware. We strongly recommend you to use the ‘Safe-Mode method’ when it’s the first time you install this new firmware.

Safe-Mode method (*recommended!):
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Shutdown the player.
4. Press and hold down the power button in front of the player for 15 seconds.
5. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

System update method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Go to Setup>Misc>USB Upgrade and press 'Enter' on your remote control to confirm.
4. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

!!DO NOT POWER OFF THE UNIT WHILE FLASHING! THIS MIGHT CAUSE DAMAGE AND RESULT IN DEFECT HARDWARE!

I've updated my PlayonHD2.

It seems that the UPnP server issue isn't fixed (after a reboot it isn't enebled anymore).

And i see another new bug. I can't get the last added music an movies away. With the old firmware i could enable a setting in de the settings menu. But now i can't.

I was little bit lamer, 'coz upgrade with 9.5.5.4585 the 73700. So it works without some function (samba, ftp, and others).

But, after the right upgrade I can write the same problem as I have later.

Add Subtitle On/Off option under SETUP - MISC to set default action of displaying subtitles on playback
If I have more episodes (series) in the same folder, I have to choose the correct subtitle. It's very annoying. But I spend time because there are 10 episodes...

If there are more subtitles, for example HUN and EN it's very good if I can choose. So, it's a very good direction!
When the sub and the are the same, the same sub should be the default... please!!!
Useless to put all episode to an individual folder.
In the other divx player the firm check the sub-file-lenght and after then choose the "best" firm. E.g. examine the first 40 char.

The HD2 don't remember the size of the sub. I think it as importan as the position.
Please fix it or make a choose option in the subtitle on/off submenu.
I would be very great to preset the sub position and size. We don't change it always.

ZOOM
When I set 130% - 100% a dvd-iso, I can't escape from the zoom setup. So, I can't use the left and right cursor

Translation
The FREE (space of HDD) in hungarian is SZABAD.... and not INGYENES
The INGYENES means you don't have to pay for something.

Have updated to this beta firmware and it's a step in the right direction. Responsiveness of the menu is a bit better, but needs further improvement.

Last night I was watching The Green Hornet 1080p mkv and there was some stuttering at a few moments, but that could be an issue with this specific file. I haven't tested any further. But I was planning on watching some movies this weekend, so I will check that out.

Als did watch a small clip from a 720p movie with DTS-MA track and it played back very smooth. I have no 1080p DTS-MA movie, so I can't test that.

A suggestion: the resolution from the rendered subtitles looks quite low with jagged edges and stuff. If you watch a blu-ray on a blu-ray player then the subs look very nice and smooth. Could you please raise the resolution for subs? It now looks like a DVD is showing it's subtitles

what database do you mean? The movies and music? No that won't change.
Only all the settings go to factory default.

I found that youtube (XL too) doesn't play the selected file but scrolls down 1 or 2 files in the list and plays that instead of the selected file?

An option to switch off the big black onscreen display (play-skip-etc) on top of the screen would also be very welcome, or at least only play/pauze etc indicator but the BIG black thing is very annoying.
especially when watching photo's. . . . .

nevertheless i am very happy with my new HD2 after upgrading from 1st batch of Playon HD.(1073ad)

Just updated! so far so good. noticed the screen saver moves fluently now rather than just flashing up around the screen! not sure if this adds anything? it does jerk sometimes now bad though!

Its doing the job

by disturbing it I see it still loses the tag data on music but it does come back! - update! didn't come back the second time! grrr why does it even disappear?

now sure i have noticed any changes to the music layout though? the right hand side still displays the track file names?

Having problems stopping storage devises (USB). it seems to hang when you select "C" but it did this on the last official firmware.

WMA and M4a files still don't display tag information as outlined in a post i made under technical
