Post Anyone ever figured out the fix for reboot issue?
So, this junk has now decided to start rebooting itself after showing "PLAYON!" logo.

Scanned/fixed the disk in Windows - nothing changed.
Flashed latest firmware in 'safe' mode - nothing changed.
Removed '.Theatre' (or whatever it was called) directory - nothing changed.

Basically, this piece of crap is in constant reboot loop, and I can't get it to boot anymore.

Did anyone ever figure out how to fix this?

Thanks.

Hello,

If you have removed the .theater folder then you can only try and safe-flash the firmware with a USB-stick formatted to FAT32. If this does not work then you have to use the warranty and bring back the device to your re-seller or to our service center. You have these details on our support page.

You can try to remove the hard drive to see if the player would start up. Just to see where the problem is coming from.

You have the latest official firmware and safe-flash instructions here.

Best regards,

I have made a comment elesewhere, where my unit was working ok for sometime without reboots on 5540. then all of a sudden i had the issue and tried everything we are always asked to do!

The one thing that worked for me was to look at all the files on the HDD. i.e. for me I only have music! I opened all my mp3s in mp3tag and looked for files that didnt have full info. like frequency, bit rate and time. these are normally blank if there is an issue with the file! Delete those and do all the check disk and deleting theater folder/part file and then try scanning!
