Good day!

you may have noticed that 3tb drives are getting more and more popular. For this reason we have decided to put up a small how-to regarding the use of those.
Officially we support up to 2tb HDD's but we are also happy to say that the 3tb HDD's we tried also work. There is a small flaw however as the player will still create a certain partition layout.
Due to this Windows may have problems recognizing the correct partitions and will ask you to format.

Here's a link to the .pdf that will explain you how to avoid this issue easily by removing the drive letters of the two (to Windows unkown) partitions. Afterwards you can just use it as a normal 3tb drive.

Hi, I've just bought and replace 1TB HDD by WD Green 3TB, formated it by Playon HD2 and copied all files from the previous 1 TB HDD via 1GB ethernet to the new HDD (main reason not to use USB3 cable, that could be faster was to avoid Windows issue with large partition), Everything, after approx 36 hours works perfect, but when I switch off (via RC) your appliance and switch it on again, I am every time asked, that HDD formating should be performed: when I answer Cancel, everything is workin g fine, but it is anoying and dangerous...
Could you recommend me how to fix this issue ?

Turn the "Format HDD Prompt" off in the settings menu.
