I think it would be neat if you could plug in a Windows Media Centre remote control USB receiver and have the device recognise it. I say this because the IR remote isn't ideal for projector set-ups and this solution would be a software-only fix which is a one-time development cost. There's sure to be Linux drivers already.

sorry to say but this will not be possible as we are pretty much bound very tight to the SDK we get from our chipset manufacturer.
