Post Network disappeared from File Manager
Hey guys,

I recently bought an AC Ryan PlayOn HD2 and really love it, but lately it's been acting a bit weird. I used to able to go to File Manager -> Network and then press WORKGROUP (to access the homegroup on which all pc's in the house are hooked up). Now, the WORKGROUP button has just disappeared. The funny thing is that I can still access the pc's for which I set up shortcuts and stream video over the network to the PlayOn HD2, so there is a network connection. It's just that the homegroup button has disappeared. Anybody know how to solve this issue?

I also have another minor question, perhaps somebody using an AC Ryan in combination with Ubuntu (or any form of Linux probably) could answer. My laptop is dual boot running both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.10. So, I have shared certain folders over the network when logged in on Windows 7 and it works fine, just immediate access as I set the sharing options to open on the laptop. However, whenever I try to access files shared through my Ubuntu installation it requires my admin password and username. This is kind of annoying, so I was wondering whether anybody had any experience with this issue?

Anyway, thanks in advance!

Daniel

Hello,

If your network discovery is a bit random, then you can use 'Files manager>network>my_shortcuts and in this view press 'Menu' button to 'Add a shortcut' based on IP, and your PC will be remembered even if your network discovery does not always show.

I have no personal experience with linux, but our latest firmware for your product saves login details in the shortcuts and if you store this, you should be able to access these.
