AC Ryan movie folder not accessible via PC
Dear all,
I have bought the AC Ryan Playon! HD2 2TB version just a few weeks ago and I must say I am not completely satisfied about the functions and the user friendlyness. I have had several problems already and most of then I could easily solve using Google which always leads me to this forum. However for my current problem I couldn't find a solution yet, hopefully someone can help.
I have put al my tv-series and film files (mostly .avi and .mp4) in different maps seperated by name and season. At first I have put these files on the base folder of the AC Ryan using my PC, but to make it less messy at the base folder I put them all in one folder. This folder was already on the AC Ryan after I installed it and is called "movie".
When I now would like to access the folders in de "movie" folder via my PC, it says "not accessible. Access is denied"
I tried to use the properties and put off the read only status of the folder but that doesn't help. I also cannot copy the files to another place.
Does anyone experienced this problem already? How can it be solved?
I am afraid I lost all my movie files...
Kind regards,
Mark

Re: AC Ryan movie folder not accessible via PC
Hi A couple of thoughts - Can you see your content from the playon HD menus - Was the POHD turned off or on when you conencted it to your PC - With the POHD turned off have you connectd it via USB to your PC and run chkdsk? There are issues with the NTFS driver in the firmware

Re: AC Ryan movie folder not accessible via PC
Ok thank you for you reaction.
I can give you the following information.
- via the POHD menu's I can see, play, copy and move files. So that's a good thing I suppose. - I both connected my POHD to my PC when it was on and when it was off, there is no difference there. - I turned off the POHD connected it to my PC then turned the POHD on and started "checkdsk /f" after it has run, i tried to access the files via my PC again, and it didn't work. - When I use the POHD menu's to move a file to a different folder it still isn't accessible (also not the file in the other folder).
Do you have any other suggestions?
It looks like the POHD has locked the folder for some sort of reason.

Re: AC Ryan movie folder not accessible via PC
I would try taking the disk out of the POHD and connecting it directly to the PC I would also run chldsk on the NTFS partition several times. If you search the forums for 'CHKDSK' there are plenty of articles on the command line switches to use

Re: AC Ryan movie folder not accessible via PC
Thanks for the advice. One question before I do that: when I take out the hdd would I lose my guarantee? I just bought it a month ago...
Regards,

Re: AC Ryan movie folder not accessible via PC
You would have to talk to your place of purchase as it is most probably they who installed the hard disk.
AC Ryan does not distribute players with the HDD installed.
