Tried that does not solve it.

I like to use the autoscan when i put new movies on the box i dont have to go hunt for them. Sometimes i cant remember the names

Are you displaying all file types (movies, music, photos)? I do not know for sure, but I could imagine that files which are not displayed, are also ignored by the scanning procedure.

Yes i am.

As i said earlier i think it has something to do with the size of the partition or number of files but i would like this verified. I will then make it two partitions like i had it before

I am sorry, I only have limited experience with Auto scan and don't have a 2 TB hard disk to test.

If you repartition your hard disk, take care not to touch or delete the two system partitions.
