I had a Win7 64bit installation with about 15TB of networked storage over various hard drives and USB caddies. the shares worked fine and i was able to stream all my movies and music to my POHD. i decided to give Ubuntu 10.10 a try and really like it but i am now having problem accessing my NTFS drive with the POHD.
I have set the permissions in Ubuntu using the shares-admin command. my POHD sees my network shares and logs on to PC1/WORKGROUP.
The various drives how up in the menus but when i try to access it asks for a logon and password. it defaults to guest, so i change it to my ubuntu logon but i keep getting a LOGON FAIL message. very frustrating at the moment.
network setup on the POHD is as follows
Wired LAN Setup 192.168.1.6 Wireless Setup Off PPPoE Setup Off
Host Name pc1 Login Control On Bit Torrent and Samba On
Can anyone shed any light on what I may be doing wrong. Many thanks
