 sometimes it starts as hdd1 and sometimes as hdd2 Hi, I hope you can help. If i switch on the playon and search in the network i get a strange thing. Sometime it will start and assign the hdd as hdd1 and sometime as hdd2. I am running firmware version v7.3.4r3582 with hdunit samsung hd1034j

Could be the hdd or the player itself.
You can try to reformat it in the player itself.

Re: sometimes it starts as hdd1 and sometimes as hdd2 i did reformat the hdu and upgraded the firmware to the latest version. It stil keeps switching. It looks like it switch each time i power on the box

Re: sometimes it starts as hdd1 and sometimes as hdd2 I have noticed this as well. I do not know what the cause is but it affects any Realtek based player.

Does your POHD use a fixed (static) IP adress or a dynamic IP adress?
I could imagine that when the POHD is using a dynamic IP adress, and you turn turn on your POHD and getting other dynamic IP@ then when you turned on it the previous time. PlayonHD might think "I already use hdd1 fro dynamic IP@ X so lets assign hdd2 for current dynamic IP@ Y"....
Could you try is by assigning a fixed IP adress to your POHD and see if that solved it.
I am just brainstorming loud to help you, so am not sure if that will work.
Ps: I do not have a PlayonHD but a PlayonHD mini.

I have the playon bought a week ago with a 1TB samsung Green HD. please advice, Johan
