I havent been here for a while and im a bit rusty onall the new stuff. I have the playon HD and all was going well until i tried to log into my network pc and was asked for a password which i know it doesnt have.

i have unintalled windows live 2011 and its still not working.

I have currently got v 70.21r3612 is this best?

I would also like to keep using the Yamj , can anyone help me get this working updated ect.

Hi there.

I would suggest waiting a while for the new firmware to be released and see what people are saying about it.

From what I understand it is due around the end of this month, but who knows? I am hoping for it sooner rather than later.

I know this is not really helpful but the recent firmware releases all have problems, some worse than others and it is all very frustrating.

The new firmware in the pipeline looks like it could be a complete revamp of the system.

So sit tight and wait for the new release.

Thanks for reply,i spent sometime yesterday looking through the site i have to admit a lot of the info is beyond me, i had a good look through the playon and seems the only thing working is playing movies from nas even my music was not playing from nas which was previously working fine, same with photos.

Im a bit grumbled by the thing to be fair as its a lot of unit for just one facility, and a whole lot of hours of reading to get a basic function working.

The tutorials are good but i find a lot of them dont explain things to people who may not be IT experts.

Isnt there a noob section ?

Sorry for the lack of user friendly advise. However, if you tell me how you are connected with your Playon!HD and what features you are intending to use and I will try to give you the best recommendation firmware right now from me personal experience.

1. How are you connected with cables? Network, audio,video etc. Do you use TV speakers or AVR? 2.1/5.1/7.1 speaker system?
2. Will you use all features, or just video, audio, or something else?

With this information I could hopefully guide you a bit.

I have the playon connected wired lan to my router which is then connected to my Nas drive. I have the playon connected with hdmi for video but i also have access to optical. I am using the samsung home theatre system for audio output 5.1.

I have YAMJ v1.9 on my pc which works on the playon via jukebox these are movies stored on the nas.

I have sound from my speakers for the movies stored on the Nas and all plays well.

I have no sound from music stored on Nas at all.

I have no access to pc from playon as it keeps asking for passwords

I have deleted windows live essentials and rbooted but still no change.

I have no radio at all, this used to work fine as did pc access.

I would like to be able to listen to the radio stations, access my pc, listen to my own music and of course watch my movies via YAMJ/browser.

For your case I would say r. 4368 would be the best option for now, which is our latest beta firmware. I'm not just saying that, but I really think so. Remember to re-install your index.html for YAMJ to work after updating firmware.

You need to upgrade to r. 3582 and then install r. 4368.

System update method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Go to Setup>System>System update and press 'Enter' on your remote control.
4. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

Remember: First r. 3582. Then Same process with r. 4368!

About the Windows ID/PW issue:

After installing the firmwares above, and making sure your settings are to your liking on your Playon!HD. Make sure you have 'NAS Mode' on and that you have a IP address. Then do the following ->
1. Remove your shares from your PC/Laptop = Unshare them (Important)
2. Do the steps found in this URL -> viewtopic.php?f=41&t=2269
3. Also do step 2 which includes the reg fix.
4. Restart your PC.
5. Share the folders you want to access with Playon!HD and make sure you share them to 'Everyone'.

We will have a fix for this included in our future firmware. We are currently recoding our Samba protocol and it's related to that.

Thank you i will follow the guide you have given me, i think i have forgotten how to do yamj though is there a later version i can reinstall? i have got problems with deleting the old files from the list even if i delete them they reappear.

Connect the essential to the pc thru the usb cable and run a chkdsk on it

After that when any errors are found and repaired try again to remove the files.

i have forgotten how to install the yamj, i will try to find it on the site. Also the link is not working.

im not sure how to unshare everthing on my win pc so i may have to wait until the experts find a fix, but i have defiantly not got any windows essentials any more.
