Samba is required to transfer data from your PC to the hard disk of your Playon.

I did the firmware upgrade to Firmware v5.4.4.r2688 - European Edition v5.4.4.r2688
Also do have the correct dongle.
Do i need to have a hard drive present in the Playon for me to be able to turn SAMBA on?
Still i cant switch SAMBA on

Yes the Essential must have at least one working memory device: the internal hard disk (formatted by the Essential), a USB memory stick or a USB hard disk.
