 Music doesn't display as expected
Hi,
I have recently bought a POHD Essential, and I'm in the process of re-ripping my CD collection in FLAC format onto the POHD disk. I have ripped one album to the disk to see how it works, but instead of giving me the album artist as a folder name it says ~Other? Why is this? Now I have ripped a second album and now when I use the list option it lists all the 01 tracks, then the 02 tracks. Obviously, in the strictest sense this is correct but surely there should be a better way of doing this as one should see the tracks by album? The second album doesn't show its cover art in the albums list either? Am I doing something wrong or isd there a strategy to ripping to the POHD disk that I should be aware of? Sorry for long mail.... Regards,
Mike

Re: Music doesn't display as expected
Hello, What you are asking is not supported by this or any of our current products. We don't have OGG Vorbis comments support for .FLAC files which is needed to display cover art and tag information. We have .FLAC file playback and you can only display the filename as you mentioned. The only way to do this is with .mp3's and .id3 tags. We normally use this free software for this: http://www.mp3tag.de/en/Best regards,

Hi Mikael, Thanks for the reply. It is probably outside the scope of this forum, but let me ask anyway...does dBPowerAmp CD Ripper not have this ability of commenting/tagging?
Regards,
Mike

Re: Music doesn't display as expected
Many types of audio files can be tagged, but the Playons can only read MP3 tags. One thing comes to mind however. If the tags are stored in the scanning database they could be altered offline on a PC. If the player tries to retrieve the tags on-the-fly while playing however, this will be no good. Does anybody know how and where the tags are retrieved??
