Please supply change logs so that those customers who do not want to risk a firmware update do not need to if an update is not going to fix a particular problem they are experiencing or add a feature they want.

there are some minor issues with the r3528 firmware.

- in browser mode, the selection rectangle pointing to the device you are about to select is not contrasting enough, possibly do something that causes the entire row to become highlighted (like that in the selection box in the HDD menus, but with a different colour). In fact, please make all selection boxes or pointers more obvious by doing a more drastic colour change instead of changing something in the icons.

- Renaming of the host name does not work at first! After renaming the host name a few times, the custom naming is finally accepted. Advise to all users to rename the host name a few times to different host names before finally changing to the host name that you want.

Also do warn the customers in future that a firmware update will reset everything, including DVB-T channels, scheduled recording and network settings so that they can be prepared.

That would be nice, otherwise, to have a tool, or a method to
1- save settings (if needed by copying specific files)
2- flash firmware
3- reload settings (idem)

For the DTT related files, I think they're here (to be checked, I did it on an other RT box), so you can copy them before upgrade and copy them back after (if their structure has not changed):
Folder: /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer/
Files of interest:
dtv_channel.txt (channels, numbers, etc. i.e output of scan + rearranging of DTT channels)
schedule_record.db (planned recordings ...)
I can not remember the name of the second db that shows what was recorded, but it's there, too.

A telnet + cp of these .txt & .db to a usb key or to the hdd partition with the REC folder, and then a later cp, would keep all these.
Need to add the "settings" file, perhaps somewhere into /usr/local/bin/Resource/

Cheers,
Matt

I thing I found a bug that did not existed in previous firmware versions. It has to do with sound and optical connection to my Logitech Z-5500 5.1 sound system.

When SPDIF output is in Pass-through the sound from avi files with MP3 sound do not reach my sound system. No sound. But mkv (avi too I suppose) with DD do have sound. With LPCM DUAL CH selection, the sound returns. So there is no pass-through when MP3 sound.

This it worked fine with WDTV.

Passthrough in HDMI works. My TV has sound in either way. But not optical/coax passthrough to my Logitech sound system when no DD or DTS. As I can see in its display it gets some signal but it is not able to recognize it.

Can anyone test this with his/her own sound system?

Post Re: ACR-PV76120 Official Firmware r3582 (SDK3.X)
D100, I have the same issue with my system. I am using coax digital audio into a pioneer amp. When set to passthrough the digital indicator on the amp flashes slowly indicating that there is a digital signal but it cannot be interpreted. So I have to leave the audio set to Dual ch PCM so that the sound works. This probably strips out the DTS surround sound which is a concern and not really satisfactory.

It would appear that if the source has surround sound encoded then passthrough works. Otherwise there is no sound!

Any fix for this in the pipeline Junwei??

Would be nice that keys that activate a function, deactivate it with another press. This behavior is followed with setup key but not, for example, with Green/EPG key. When EPG is activated you have to press RETURN to deactivate it.

I get the exact same issue. This causes me to hit the setup menu and disable "Passthrough". Sound returns after doing that.

A bit annoying...

: (

Hopefully they will fix it in the next FW release...?
