 Playon!DVR-HD 76120 : A/V input quality
Hi, I have just bought this unit and I am quite satisfied about it even when using the last software upgrade. I am now trying to use the A/V input to bakup my old HI8 cassettes, the recording is working properly on the HDD but I am not satisfied about the quality. Some artifacts are particularly visible on the green and yellow parts of the pictures, some kind of "stripes". These artefacts seem to be generated by the composite decoder of the 76120 because when I connect my HI8 camcorder directly to a display (again thought a composite input of this display) I don't see such artefacts. Have anybody encontered the same problem and found a solution ?

Set the recording quality to HQ in the Setup menu.

Thanks, the recordonding was set to HQ. Since I realize there is another thread on this topic I jump to it as recommended by Arni : http://www.acryan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=130&t=15900&hilit=artefacts&start=20Gbrian

 Re: Playon!DVR-HD 76120 : A/V input quality
Hi, here is a picture (from the HI8 recording through the AV IN) where the artefacts can be seen. I also checked with a DV camcorder using the composite output of this device, I have the same artefacts that appear especially on the green and yellow parts of the video. Again, when I play these videos directly from the camcorder to the display through the composite link there is no such artefacts. So I am suspecting the composite decoding of the PV 76120. Can anybody help? Thanks Gbrian
