“Recently we had the opportunity to review the Playon! HD and Playon! HD Mini network media players from A.C. Ryan. We were very impressed with both players given their ease of use and ability to play any media we cared to throw at them and the only real missing feature was the ability to record. Well it seems that A.C. Ryan have intercepted our Christmas holiday wish list as they've just released the new Playon!DVR HD.

The set-up of the Playon!DVR HD is very simple. The quality of playback the Playon!DVR HD is to the same high standard we saw on the Playon! HD and Playon! HD Mini. It is able to handle any kind of media we threw at it and the streaming quality from a network source is very good.

The addition of dual TV tuners enhances our experience of using the Playon!DVR HD even further…

The Playon!DVR HD is a welcome upgrade to the A.C. Ryan product family. Providing a complete package of both media playback and DVR the Playon!DVR HD replaces two boxes that were sitting beside our TV. The quality of the TV channels is very good and the current EPG is simple to use which allows us quick access to record content.

In addition to this the Playon!DVR HD also allows us to remotely connect from anywhere in the world to access our media collection or schedule a recording.

Whether we play the media over our network, from the internal drive or from a storage device plugged into the unit quality is top notch and format support exceptional”
