I'm interested by this request because ist very important for me day by day.

I propose the best keymapping for me :

left / right ( - 10 / + 30 sec skip)
up / down (- 10 / + 10 min skip)

I have read a request using numbers for time skipping, but access to arrow keys is easier and faster than numbers, and more again in the dark.

As elsewhere stated, the player PLAYON!HD has 2 functions (and 2 remote keys), one that backward 10 seconds (INS REPLAY) and the other one that advance 30 seconds (CM SKIP), during playback, that I found extremely useful.

Too bad, Playon!DVR-HD doesn't have them.

Frames seek function of fw r4824 is good, but they are better!

I hope very much they'll be put in again.

I am still waiting to get the playon!DVR HD shipped to me, but it looks like the scan ahead feature may go ahead 30 seconds but do it at a 16x or 32x speed rather than just jump there.. am i correct?

if so, i'd bet that the CM feature is still there but not enabled.

i read somewhere on another post that the older players had this CM feature.
if someone has both of these, they can test it out by using the old remote control.

if it works, get a learning remote (i have the pronto 7000) and learn the code.
post the code, and then anyone with a learning remote can can use the code... or maybe get there hands on an old remote.

it is possible as well, that there is a few button sequences that need to be combined on the remote control to enable CM... they do that on some tivo players to re-enable the CM skip.

when i bought this , i thought it had the CM.. as a matter of fact, thats why i bought it... disappointed on that.

In POH!HD (ACR-PV73100) the 2 skip functions, called INS REPLAY and CM SKIP (imho priceless!), are present with 2 specific buttons in his Remote Control.

Too bad used on POH!DVR they recall the AUDIO and ZOOM functions.
On the opposite test, the AUDIO and ZOOM buttons of the POH!DVR RC recall the Skip functions on a POH!HD.
So, imho, the "problem" is in the fw.

They also messed others buttons and did not included the PAUSE/STEP function (skip frame by frame) present in POH!HD!

Let's ask all together they put them back!

30 second skip is a must.
Trying to FF commercials and then stop where the show resumes is pathetic.
looking on ebay, even cheap ones have this function!

PLEASE re-enable this feature!!

About to buy a mini2, please tell me this skip feature is available across all Playon units, right???

I won't buy this product until it has this feature - I find it that useful...

Something to note though, for 'Freeview' certification, manufacturers are required to disable any 'channel skip' feature.

So, if you want to skip ads, don't buy anything with a Freeview sticker on it!
