 Information about DTV_Channel.txt needed
Hi A.C.Ryan,
due to the fact that I have some problems regarding the recording of channels with special characters in the station name and the fact that renaming channels via the provided feature in the actual beta firmware is not working correct I ask for some support from you.
There exists a tool called "DTV Channel Manager" which was originally written for EMTECs MovieCubes.
Basically this tool works also for the Playon DVR. The dtv_channel.txt copied via telnet is read out correctly and the channels are displayed correct. But renaming the channels is not working correct with that tool.
Can you please provide some information about how the dtv_channel.txt is coded? Is it correct that there are two positions per channel where the name has to be changed? What do the other values (if I view the file in hex-mode) mean.
Please answer these questions because I want to use the DVR the way it should normally be designed for.
Regards,
Dodger

Hi Dodger, did you ever get around this issue with channels having non-standard characters in them ? I have a similar issue but I know it's fixed in later FW - but I dont want to go to that later FW due to other issues it introduces. Thx
