 MobiliT Universal Battery Swelled!
Hi,
Can anyone suggest what I might do. I visited Singapore from the US and bought an A.C. Ryan. Universal Laptop Battery. I got to use it on the long haul flight home and one more time on a flight. After that one of the internal batteries swelled and cracked the plastic part of the case open at the corner where it joins the two aluminum parts together.
I'm so disappointed. This is a great looking product that worked well when I bought it. Unfortunately I bought it in Singapore and live in the US. My wife wondered about the risk and what kind of warranty cover I'd get spending that much money.
I guess I've got a $130 door wedge now and I'll have to visit my local recycler to dispose of it. If I knew what the batteries where inside, I'd solder some new ones in.
Oh well... I hope others have better luck and life in this product than I did.

 Re: MobiliT Universal Battery Swelled!
Hello chumpster, First of all sorry for any inconveniences. The unit is covered only by one year local warranty after purchase. Honestly, the problem you have is something new to us. We havent got any case of any MobiliT product that is been physically damage caused by a battery defect. Will be glad to help you regarding this issue, but sad to say we cannot because you lived now in the US.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I knew I was taking a risk buying something where the warranty might not apply as I return to the US. I wonder if you could tell me the specifications of the batteries and I could replace them at my own risk?
thank you

Hello?... I wonder if you could tell me the approximate specifications of the batteries and I could replace them at my own risk? If you can tell me the mAh and voltage it would suffice.
thank you

 Re: MobiliT Universal Battery Swelled!
Hi chumspter, Sorry for a late reply. It is composed of six cell Li-Ion batteries having a total of 6000mAh. For the voltage rating we are really not sure, maybe you can try to check to any battery shops.
