I bought the playonhd this week and its working pretty good so far, except for the mkv files @ 23.976 fps with the 1080p 24hz mode on. Ive tried the 50/60/auto video mode with it, but with no succes. I still get a stutter every 30-60 seconds. I thought this was fixed in the last couple of firmwares?

TV: panasonic 42pz800
firmware: 2901
playing files from internal hdd (samsung f2 1tb)

Is there any way to fix this without losing the 24p mode or will it get fixed if its still a general problem with the playonhd?

Does your tv support it.

i have a p42g10 and mkv with 24 hz option on works fine
no stutter at all not from the hdd not from streaming from the network

Yes it should support it according to its specs + regular blu-rays are 23.976 aswell I think and they play fine on my bluray player (PS3) with its 24p mode on.

There is problem : movie encoded at 23.976ips are displayed and 24Hz and not 23,976. This is create micro stuttering.

ACRyan MUST fix it. Idem for 59,94Hz ouputed to 60Hz. For information, a Xbox 360 output at 59,94Hz and not 60Hz ...

ACRyan PHD is wrong about the good frequency to map.

Ye I read it was fixed, so thats why I was surprised it was stuttering a bit with 24hz mode on. Maybe I overlooked something so thats why I posted or it could be that the pz800 + pohd is a bad combo :<

I did flash my pohd to 2901 straight away and I couldnt format the hdd, so I went back to the orignal firmware -> format the hdd -> flash to 2901 again. Maybe something went wrong there, altho I reflashed again to make sure and the pohd info says the firmware version is 2901.

It remains 'vaag' :p

You have micro stuttering if you useing 24p mode. It's mathematical. I you are using 60Hz, you have stuttering (3:2 pulldown include stuttering due to time code shift).

Some people doesn't notice thaht. You are lucky i guess.

For demonstrate :

I have a scaler : I'm using a Blu-Ray player which output to 23,976 (the standard ...), and with my scaler i set the output to 24Hz instead of 23,976 ... I've the same micro stuttering, like the PHD. Now i set the output of the scaler to 23,976 and now it's magic, no micro stuttering.

It's simple to fix i think, why do not respect the video standard ? I can't understand that !

When i play a 23.98 MKV with 24p mode on (Yes my Sony Bravia supports that) i occassionally get a stutter every 30-60 sec. (Latest official firmware installed).
PLayOn is set to 1080p50Hz mode.

When i turn off the 24p mode, i get stutters troughout, especially in panning scenes.

This is also the case when i want to watch a MKV on a standard CRT set, with PAL output selected.

Is there any way that these stutters can be solved ?
